This project was carried out in two stages. First, the clients wanted to convert and make the most of their top floor maisonette overlooking one of London's most attractive squares. This involved complete internal remodelling and the creation of a rooftop terrace with spectacular views over the rooftops of Pimlico to the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Cathedral in one direction and the iconic chimneys of Battersea Power Station in the other.

The second stage took place when the clients had negotiated the purchase of the flat below them. This was to be incorporated into their existing maisonette with the entrance being moved down one level. Here, we created an additional living room and guest bedroom/bathroom and an air-conditioned "wine cellar". New wide boarded oak floors were laid to match those upstairs and part of our brief was to design fitted cupboards and shelves for which we used a combination of glass and the exotic hardwood, wenge.
